Bay Area Radio Host Gets Crushed For Lamar Jackson, Brock Purdy Take

Lamar Jackson and Brock Purdy are two very different players, but they've each managed to find success in the NFL.

Jackson, a former Heisman winner, is a two-time MVP with an entire offensive scheme built around him in Baltimore.

Purdy has become the ultimate game manager in San Francisco, working with the talent on the roster and guiding them to the Super Bowl last season.

Most NFL fans and analysts feel that Purdy is a good quarterback, but that Jackson is truly elite, a once-in-a-generation player with Hall of Fame potential.

Those opinions came into question when one Bay Area radio host made an interesting choice between the two quarterbacks.

95.7 The Game's Matt Steinnmetz said that if he had the chance to add Lamar Jackson to the 49ers, he would decline the offer in favor of Purdy.

"I know it sounds crazy, but if you let me drop Lamar Jackson on the 49ers, I'd say 'no thank you. I'm going to roll with Brock Purdy this year,'" Steinmetz said on his radio show.

As you may expect, the NFL world was stunned by his choice, and they let him hear about it on social media.

"Purdy is a baller but come on Lamar on the Niners is game over," one fan said.

"Lamar wasn't perfect last night but that o-line was atrocious. He's still alot better then Purdy let's not do this lol," said another fan.

"This is why non-49ers fans hate on Purdy," one fan said.

"Aye man real fans do not have this same opinion," another fan said.

"I got some advice for you, leave the drugs at home before you come to work!," one fan added.

"Shanahan would disagree. Steiny got the worst takes in every sport lol," another fan said, providing multiple examples of 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan praising Jackson.

"Oh my goodness, why do you guys set up yourself like this. This is one of the dumbest takes I've ever seen," said one fan.

Purdy is a great player in his own right with an extremely bright future, and he's in the best possible situation for a young quarterback.

However, when an MVP is - hypothetically - available, there's an easy choice to make.
