Anthony Richardson makes Colts history amid tumultuous season

Indianapolis Colts quarterback Anthony Richardson has had an up-and-down season, but he made some franchise history during the Week 16 game against the Tennessee Titans.

With a seven-yard run in the first quarter, Richardson passed Mike Pagel (441 in 1983) for the

most single-season rushing yards by a Colts quarterback in team history.

It has been a rough season for the second-year quarterback, who was benched in the middle of the campaign in favor of Joe Flacco.

While Richardson has had some better outings since the benching, the inconsistent accuracy is still a major problem for Shane Steichen's offense.

With that said, his rushing ability is part of the reason why he has such a high ceiling. The Colts started to use him more as a runner in a simplified offense since the benching, but his struggles as a passer keep the entire offense from being a consistent unit.

It doesn't seem like the Colts will make a change at quarterback this offseason, but anything can change on a dime in the NFL.

The Colts technically aren't out of playoff contention, but their chances of making the postseason are extremely thin. Richardson's future is up in the air, but if he can continue to move the offense with his legs, it could help alleviate some of the struggles through the air.
