An Orlando teenager was arrested Friday by the Orlando Police Department for a social media post threatening deadly violence against a public official, according to a press release from the agency.
The unidentified suspect is a 16-year-old female student at Lake Nona High School, according to the release.
She was arrested on charges of written/electronic threat to kill or cause bodily harm, according to OPD, which received notice of the post earlier Friday.
The release said the United States Secret Service is assisting with the investigation.
No other information was included in the release.
