The 17th annual "Cruzin for Life" car cruise will return to the streets of Santa Maria Friday evening to raise funds and support patients fighting cancer.
The cruise is open to pre-registered participants, and will move south along Broadway from Cook Street to Stowell Road.
The section of Broadway from Cook Street to Stowell Road will be closed in both directions from 6 to 9 p.m. to secure the parade route.
Motorists may detour by using Stowell Road, Miller Street and Cook Street. The Santa Maria Police Department will monitor and enforce traffic.
The survivor cruise on Friday night will kick off a full day of car shows and fundraisers at the Santa Maria Fairpark on Saturday.
On Saturday, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. the Fairpark will host an all makes and models car show with live music from DJ Pete Ruiz and the Michael Arriola Project.
A live and silent action and dinner is planned for Saturday night, starting at 4:30 p.m. and continuing to 11 p.m. Keyboardist Terry Lawless will perform at the silent auction portion which includes a no-host cocktail hour.
