PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) -- A traffic stop on Interstate 5 led to the driver's arrest, as well as seizure of 40 pounds of methamphetamine Tuesday evening, Oregon State Police said.
At around 5 p.m., an OSP trooper had originally stopped a vehicle along I-5 for a traffic violation.
During the stop, officials said the trooper became suspicious of drug trafficking activity and brought out his drug detection K-9.
As a result, 40 pounds of crystal methamphetamine were found in the vehicle's trunk, authorities said.
The driver, identified as 27-year-old Sheyla Lopez from Shafter, California, was arrested and taken to jail.
No further information has been released at this time.
