A 58-year-old man from Glastonbury, Connecticut, was arrested early Saturday after driving the wrong way on I-95 in southern Maine, putting several drivers at risk.The incident began around 1:15 a.m. when Maine State Police started getting calls about a vehicle heading south in the northbound lanes near mile marker 16 in Wells. Troopers from Troop G, along with officers from York and Kittery, rushed to the scene.York police soon spotted the vehicle, a white Chevy Equinox, still driving in the wrong direction near mile marker 10. They, along with state police, managed to bring it to a stop near mile marker 6 in York, according to authorities.Before police caught up to the wrong-way driver, another motorist crashed while trying to avoid the oncoming vehicle near mile marker 11. Thankfully, no one was injured in that crash.The driver of the Equinox was identified as Timothy Willis, who now faces a charge of operating under the influence. Police are continuing to investigate the incident.
