The Northwood Panthers are Hogoheegee District regular-season volleyball champions for the second straight year and got another stellar performance from their dynamic duo.
Sydney Carter (14 kills, eight assists, eight digs, four aces, three blocks) and Karlee Frye (nine kills, seven assists, three digs, two aces) as the squad from Saltville swept Honaker in three sets to wrap up the league title on Tuesday night.
Meghan Goff (eight digs) and Amira Lowe (nine assists, three kills, two blocks) helped power the Panthers as well.
Carey Keene's five kills and Kalli Miller's 11 digs were tops for Honaker.
Eastside 3, Twin Springs 2
Virginia Hicks had 42 assists, 16 digs and six aces as the Eastside Spartans dominated the final two sets in rallying for a 25-23, 17-25, 23-25, 25-5, 25-1 Cumberland District triumph over the Twin Springs Titans.

Drew Damron added 19 kills and four races, while Haley Frazier (12 kills, two blocks), Emma Sartin (15 digs, nine kills) and Hailey Day (26 digs) had noteworthy performances as well.
Eastside clinched second place in the Cumberland District standings behind regular-season champ J.I. Burton.
"We like to make things dramatic," said Eastside coach Brianne Casteel Bailey. "The fourth and fifth set is how we are capable of playing. I don't think that we came out of the beginning; we did win the first set but I never felt we had good rhythm until that fourth set."
Addy Bays (19 assists), Jayde Tomlinson (nine digs), Emma Ross (eight kills) and Kenzie Gillenwater (13 kills) had the top performances for Twin Springs.
Wise County Central 3, John Battle 0
Emmah McAmis had 24 kills, 11 digs and five blocks to set the tone as the Wise County Central Warriors overpowered Union for a 25-21, 25-12, 25-17 Mountain 7 District victory.
Abbie Jordan (16 assists, nine kills, six digs, four blocks), Aubrey Moore (14 assists, 11 digs, six kills, four aces), Chloe Wells (10 digs) and Sophie Fleming (11 digs, two aces) were also vital to the victory.
Rural Retreat 3, Patrick Henry 2
Senior Kailey Davidson recorded the 1,000th dig of her career as the Rural Retreat Indians edged Patrick Henry for a 20-25, 25-23, 25-15, 25-27, 15-7 triumph over the Patrick Henry Rebels.
PH was paced by Lexi Cook (27 assists, 18 digs), Erin South (12 kills, two blocks), Jennifer Reynolds (seven kills, five digs, three blocks, two aces) and Kalyn Steele (14 digs).
Castlewood 3, Thomas Walker 2
Charleigh Hall filled the stat sheet with 32 assists, seven kills, four aces and two blocks as the Castlewood Blue Devils outlasted Thomas Walker for a 22-25, 25-12, 13-25, 25-20, 15-12 triumph.
Anna Summers (16 kills, three blocks, two aces), Lexus Mullins (six kills, four aces) and Eliza Worley (five kills, three aces) were among the other stat leaders for the winners.
Marion 3, Graham 0
Brooke Langston hammered down 10 kills as Marion cruised to a 25-12, 25-11, 25-8 Southwest District victory over the Graham G-Girls.
The SWD regular-season champions, the Scarlet Hurricanes also got seven kills from Kayla Cline, a 15-assist, 17-service point, six-kill, four-dig effort from Aubree Whitt, eight assists from Jaylin Ferland and a nine-dig, nine-assist showing via Mya Ferland.
Chilhowie 3, Holston 1
The Williams duo - Lexi Williams (19 assists, eight digs, five kills) and Sara Williams (16 assists, six aces) - were a winning combination for the Chilhowie Warriors as they earned a 25-12, 20-25, 26-24, 25-9 Hogoheegee District victory over Holston.
Madi Preston (16 digs, eight kills, five aces), Rilynn Copeland (15 digs), Kylee Dancy (10 digs, seven kills) and Presley Frye (nine digs, six kills) played well too.
The quartet of Jaycie Perry (13 digs), Lucy Reid (16 digs, 12 assists), Hannah Milhorne (12 digs, six kills) and Lilly Johnson (seven kills) were the stat leaders for Holston.
Virginia High 3, Lebanon 0
The Virginia High Bearcats bested Lebanon 25-20, 25-16, 25-17 for a Southwest District victory
Gate City 3, Union 1
Outside hitter Peyton Taylor tallied 21 kills and 12 digs as the Gate City Blue Devils posted a 25-16, 24-26, 25-23, 25-19 Mountain 7 District triumph over the Bears of Union.
Freshman Nora Estep added eight blocks and seven kills, while Sophie Webb was on point with 19 assists and six aces.
J.I. Burton 3, Rye Cove 1
Cumberland District regular-season champion J.I. Burton dispatched Rye Cove 21-25, 25-14, 25-15, 25-15.
The Cove got 17 kills from Jalynn Rogers, 26 assists from Lexi Shupe and a dozen digs apiece from Naquila Harless and Alidia Kern.
Auburn 3, George Wythe 0
VHSL powerhouse Auburn earned a 25-21, 25-18, 25-20 Mountain Empire District triumph over the George Wythe Maroons.
GW was led by the 20 assists of Hannah Repass, 19 digs from Addy Courtney and seven kills from Makaylan Luttrell.
CROSS COUNTRY
Poole leads THS
Ryder Poole had himself quite a day as the Tennessee High Vikings fared well during the Three Rivers Conference/Big 4 Conference cross country meet at Bristol's Steele Creek Park.
Poole finished fourth among all runners in the boys race with a time of 17:07.39. Andrew Sells added an eighth-place finish in 17:27.46 as THS had the top team score among Three Rivers boys squads.
Daniel Boone's Fisher Battel (16:44.62) had the top time, while Sullivan East's Thomas Ridlehuber clocked in at 17:56.64 for a 13th-place showing.
In the girls race, Tennessee High's Jenna Reecher was fifth in 21:36.99. Mylee Jones of Sullivan East was 19th in 22:42.48 and David Crockett's Maggie Bellamy was tops in 19:41.13.
