Jets OLB Haason Reddick reportedly ends holdout, agrees to short-term contract

It appears that Haason Reddick has finally ended his holdout. According to multiple reports, the dynamic edge rusher and the New York Jets have agreed to terms on a reworked "short term" contract. No details on that deal have been released.

Reddick will report Monday and he and his agents will continue to work toward a multi-year contract with the Jets.

"We will continue to work towards a long term extension with the Jets," Reddick's new agent, Drew Rosenhaus, told ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Reddick, 30, will be in his eighth NFL season once he finally appears in a game with the Jets. Drafted in the first round by the Arizona Cardinals in 2017, Reddick's real breakout came with the Philadelphia Eagles in 2022. He played every game and ended the season with a career-high 16 sacks, 49 combined tackles, 11 tackles for a loss, and 26 QB hits. He was named to the Pro Bowl, the AP named him a second-team All-Pro, and he came in fourth in voting for defensive player of the year.

Reddick had been making noise about wanting a restructured contract before the Eagles traded him in March, and that didn't end when the trade went down. The smell of trouble began to waft off this transaction just a few months later, as Reddick didn't show up for OTAs in May and in June failed to appear for mandatory minicamp. When training camp began the following month, Reddick was nowhere to be found.

And that's pretty much how it's been until recently. Reddick's agency, CAA, dropped him on Oct. 10, leaving him without representation. He hired Rosenhaus a few days later with the intention of working out a deal to return to the Jets.

And returning is what he'll be doing on Monday. It's easier said than done since Reddick has spent nearly his entire time on the Jets holding out for a better contract, but the Jets need help on the field. If Reddick can actually help them out, it'll be like this never happened.
