The Marlins outscored the Redhawks from Wisconsin 30-9 in the first half as they held Ripon to 16% shooting.
Radford 89, William & Mary 77: Jarvis Moss' 24 points and six rebounds helped the Highlanders (1-1) hand Brian Earl his first loss as coach of the Tribe (1-1).
W&M led 51-44 after starting the second half on a 12-2 spurt, and it was 65-60 Tribe before a decisive 17-3 Radford run. Brandon Maclin's 3-pointer while being fouled with 7:20 left gave Radford the lead to stay.
The Highlanders' Ibu Yamakazi scored 17 points while shooting 6 for 6, including 4 for 4 from beyond the arc.
Noah Collier led W&M with 15 points and seven rebounds. Chase Lowe added 15 points, and Caleb Dorsey finished with 13. The Tribe was 28 of 34 from the free-throw line, its most such points since 2020.
George Washington 82, Hampton 54: Trey Autry led GW with 14 points as the Revolutionaries (2-0) routed the Pirates (1-1) in D.C.Gerald Drumgoole Jr. added 13 points and Jacoi Hutchinson 12 for GW.
George Beale led HU with 19 points. Hampton also got 13 points from Wayne Bristol, but a 15-2 run helped GW outscore the Pirates 50-30 in the second half.
Virginia Tech 93, USC Upstate 74: Mylyjeal Poteat and Brandon Rechsteiner scored 19 points apiece for the Hokies at Cassell Coliseum.
Reserve Tyler Johnson scored 16 points, Jaydon Young 14 and Tobi Lawal and Jaden Schutt 10 apiece for the Hokies.
Carmelo Adkins scored 20 points, Mister Dean 18 and Karmani Gregory 15 for the Spartans.
With 12:58 left, USC Upstate's Daniel Helterhoff made a 3-pointer to reduce the Spartans' deficit to 56-50. But Young responded with a 3, Rechsteiner made a layup, Poteat made two free throws and the Hokies led 63-50. The lead remained in double figures.
VCU 80, Boston College 55: The Rams (2-0) stifled the Eagles in the opener of a Veterans Classic doubleheader in Navy's arena in Annapolis, Maryland.
The Rams, who never trailed, went ahead 13-6 with a 7-0 run and pulled away. They held the Eagles to 17-of-58 shooting (29.3%).
Phil Russell scored 20 points for VCU, while freshman Brandon Jennings had 11 assists. Joe Bamisile had 18 points and nine rebounds, Christian Fermin had 12 points and Jack Clark had 10 points and seven rebounds.
Landstown High graduate Donald Hand Jr. had 17 points and eight rebounds for BC. Roger McFarlane had 11 points and 11 rebounds.
No. 7 Duke 100, Army 58: All five Duke starters scored in double digits as the Blue Devils (2-0) dominated Army (1-1), where former Duke coach Mike Krzyzewski played and originally coached, at Cameron Indoor Stadium.
Freshmen Cooper Flagg (13 points, 11 rebounds, three blocks) and Khaman Maluach (11 points, 14 rebounds) had double-doubles. Kon Knueppel had 15 points, Tyrese Proctor 14, Caleb Foster 11 and reserve Sion James 12.
Jalen Rucker scored 17 and Josh Scovens 16 for the Black Knights.
Stanford 80, Cal State Fullerton 53: Benny Gealer scored a career-high 20 points and made six 3-pointers -- all in the second half -- and Maxime Raynaud had 14 points and 14 rebounds for the host Cardinal.
They trailed by double digits in the first half but went ahead 30-27 at halftime after Raynaud made a 3-pointer with 23 seconds left.
No. 18 Marquette 82, George Mason 63: David Joplin had 27 points and 10 rebounds for Shaka Smart's Golden Eagles, who pulled away down the stretch to win in front of a festive, all-student crowd on campus in the 3,700-seat Al McGuire Center. Marquette usually plays in the Fiserv Forum, where the Milwaukee Bucks also compete.
Marquette took the lead for good at 52-51 when Chase Ross converted a steal into a dunk with 12:25 left.
The game had a tense moment in the final minute as Marquette's Ben Gold drove to the basket and was fouled hard by Woody Newton. It appeared Newton's elbow hit Gold in the face.
Players exchanged words and shoves. Newton and Marquette's Kam Jones both received technical fouls, with Newton's fifth foul knocking him out of the game.
Jones had 24 points and eight assists for Marquette (2-0). Darius Maddox scored 20 for George Mason (1-1).
The Patriots trailed 13-0 but went ahead by five early in the second half; Marquette missed 14 straight shots.
No. 1 Kansas 92, No. 9 North Carolina 89: Hunter Dickinson had 20 points and 10 rebounds for Kansas (2-0), which blew a 20-point first-half lead but held on when Elliot Cadeau missed a contested 3-pointer for the Tar Heels (1-1) as time expired in Lawrence, Kansas.
Zeke Mayo had 21 points and KJ Adams Jr had 14 for the Jayhawks, who led 49-29 in the first half but trailed 87-83 with 3:28 to go. Dickinson and Mayo responded with a series of baskets to tie the game at 89, and Dickinson's basket with 1:15 to go and free throw with 12 seconds remaining made it a three-point game.
Seth Trimble scored 19 points to lead UNC.
N.C. State 81, Presbyterian 72: Jayden Taylor scored 19 points, Ben Middlebrooks added 16 and the Wolfpack (2-0) won in Raleigh. Michael O'Connell had 11 points and eight assists and Brandon Huntley-Hatfield contributed 11 points and six rebounds for the Wolfpack against the Blue Hose (1-1), who got 28 points from Kory Mincy.
Pittsburgh 83, Murray State 68: Jaland Lowe scored 20 points and Damian Dunn and Ishmael Leggett each scored 19 for the Panthers.
Guillermo Diaz Graham made two free throws with 8:51 remaining to give Pitt a 64-63 lead, and the Panthers (2-0) never trailed again. Trence Harcum scored 15 for the Racers (1-1).
Clemson 88, St. Francis 62: Ian Schieffelin and Jaeden Zachery each scored 16 points for the host Tigers against the Red Flash (0-2) of Pennsylvania. Clemson led by at least 18 through the second half.
No. 2 Alabama 88, Arkansas State 79: Mark Sears scored 19 points as Alabama (2-0) survived an upset scare in Tuscaloosa against its Sun Belt visitors (1-1).
The game was tied with seven minutes left before Alabama scored 11 of the next 13 points, three from Sears at the free throw line.
Arkansas State (1-1) was led by 20 points from Kobe Julien and 18 from Taryn Todd.
No. 13 Texas A&M 87, East Texas A&M 55: Zhuric Phelps scored 18 points in his Texas A&M debut, and Manny Obaseki and Richmond native Henry Coleman III each added 14.
Texas A&M (1-1) bounced back after losing at Central Florida on Monday in its season opener. Phelps, an SMU transfer, missed that game with a hand injury.
Scotter Williams Jr. scored 12 points for East Texas A&M, which changed its name from Texas A&M-Commerce on Thursday.
No. 14 Purdue 72, Northern Kentucky 50: Fletcher Loyer scored 16 points and Trey Kaufman-Renn had 14, while Braden Smith added 11 points and seven assists for the host Boilermakers (2-0). No one reached double figures for the Norse (0-2).
No. 19 Texas 90, Houston Christian 59: Freshman guard Tre Johnson scored 28 points and Arthur Kaluma added 15 points and 10 rebounds for the Longhorns (1-1). Former Virginia Cavalier Kadin Shedrick finished with 10 points, six rebounds and four blocks.Julian Mackey led Houston Christian (1-1) with 20 points.
No. 20 Cincinnati 83, Morehead State 56: Simas Lukosius had 14 points and six assists for the Bearcats (2-0) against the Eagles (1-2). Jizzle James and Dillon Mitchell also scored 14 points for Cincinnati.
New Mexico 72, No. 22 UCLA 64: Nelly Junior Joseph had 16 points and 12 rebounds to lead the Lobos (2-0) over the Bruins (1-1) in Henderson, Nevada. Tyler Bilodeau had 23 points and 15 rebounds for UCLA.
No. 24 Mississippi 66, Grambling State 64: Former Virginia Tech guard Sean Pedulla had 12 points and four assists for Ole Miss, which rallied from a 12-point second-half deficit at home.
Ole Miss (2-0) used a 20-0 second-half run to take a 47-39 lead, but Grambling State (1-1) cut it to 64-63 on two free throws by Mikale Stevenson with 4 seconds left.
Jaylen Murray was fouled and made two free throws for a 3-point lead, and the Rebels fouled to prevent the Tigers from attempting a 3-pointer at the buzzer.
Navy 85, Harvard 80: In the Veterans Classic doubleheader nightcap, Austin Benigni's 34 points led Navy. He added five rebounds and seven assists for the Midshipmen (1-1).
Robert Hinton led the Crimson (1-1) with 26 points, eight rebounds and four assists.
No. 10 Oklahoma 95, Virginia 51: Raegan Beers had 26 points and 14 rebounds for the Sooners (2-0) against the Cavaliers (1-1) in Norman.
Sahara Williams scored 14 points for the Sooners, who led 44-27 at halftime. Payton Verhulst added 13 points, and Skylar Vann had eight points and 10 rebounds. Beers, a transfer center from Oregon State, made 11 of 16 field-goal tries.
Breona Hurd scored 15 points and Paris Clark added 11 for the Cavaliers, who made just 19 of 69 shots (27.5%).
