After the starting punter Jamie Gillan injured his leg they had to put in the backup Matt Haack. Gillan's recovery process has been going well and it appears that he is ready to play again. Because of this the Giants cut Haack.
But do you know who costs them $40 million per year just to guarantee losses? Daniel Jones. If you ask me the Giants should have worked a deal where they trade Azeez Ojulari and a pick or two for a veteran QB who can be a mentor for Tommy DeVito. And instead of cutting their punter they should cut Daniel Jones and free up some money to fix their o-line this off season. To me it feels like the managers and coaching staff don't care enough, they just aren't making the right moves to be taken seriously.
Daniel Jones isn't a leader and most definitely isn't a franchise quarterback. I just can't wrap my head around why they don't invest in their future by giving DeVito and Drew Lock a good o-line and a great mentor, they have the weapons on offense, it's about time they get rid of Jones. Whenever I see Jones on the field I feel like I'm being punished for being a Giants fan, It's like watching a pee-wee quarterback try to play in a high school game, it's embarrassing.
If you're still reading this thank you for listening to my rant about the managerial decisions and how they messed up. Hope we can all watch the Giants pull it together to beat the Panthers (even though they shouldn't have to pull anything together against Carolina).
