NEW JERSEY (PIX11) -- A boil water advisory has been issued in the Township of Verona, according to a Facebook post by the Verona Police Department.
A water main broke Thursday morning, according to the social media post.

"You may experience periods of no service, low pressure, and discolored water," the post read. "A Boil Water Advisory means any water that will be used for cleaning, human or pet consumption should be boiled and cooled first. "
Officials recommend the public also refrain from swallowing water when showering or bathing.
The Office of Emergency Management is actively working to repair the water main, officials said.
