Surrendering 507 total yards of offense, the Alvord Bulldogs were unable to hunt down their first win of the season in Week 2.

Alvord (0-2) was shut out by Lindsay 47-0 Sept. 6 at Knight Stadium.

Lindsay quickly built up a 21-point lead after 12 minutes of play thanks to a trio of rushing touchdowns by running backs Mason Meyers (27), Zachary Metzler (5) and Simon Thurman.

In the second quarter, the Knights added a 30-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Luke Foster to wide receiver Joseph Manhart, followed by a 50-yard scoring scamper by Foster to take a 33-0 lead into the locker room.

Unable to contain Lindsay's offensive stars, the Bulldogs wee outscored by the Knights 14-0 in the second half. Foster ran for his second score of the game from 54 yards out in the third quarter, while running back Braxten Ice tacked on a 12-yard touchdown run in the final frame.

Lindsay outgained Alvord on the ground 477-46. The Bulldogs held the yardage advantage in the air with 129, compared to the Knights' 30.

Alvord quarterback Dalton George led the Bulldogs' run game with 20 yards on nine carries, and went 14-for-25 under center. His top target was Brayden Clark, who reeled in four catches for 52 yards.

Foster racked up 198 rushing yards on 14 carries for Lindsay. He completed one of his three passing attempts for 30 yards.

In Week 3, Alvord opens Bulldog Stadium with a homecoming battle against Archer City 7 p.m. Friday. The Wildcats (1-1) fell to Anson in Week 2, 50-28.
