Newcomer Taylor, incumbent Cuddy win Board of Educations seats

BRISTOL, Tenn. -- Bristol Tennessee voters chose newcomer Charles Taylor and reelected Eric Cuddy to the city's Board of Education.

Taylor, who ran as a Republican, received 8,288 votes. Eric Cuddy, who ran as an independent, was reelected with 5,544 votes and Democrat candidate Donna Coffey received 3,141 votes.

All votes are unofficial until certified by the Sullivan County Board of Elections.

"I'm excited to have the chance to serve," said Taylor. "I really appreciate everyone that supported me; my wife and my family; all the people that donated to my campaign and the people that let me put signs out and just encouraging words along the way."

In his comments the day after winning the election, Taylor added that he looks forward to continuing to improve the school system alongside his fellow board members.
