In honor of Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, one Highview neighborhood church gathered people to become potential bone marrow donors Sunday.The event was done in support of Grey for Trey, a group supporting a 3-year-old boy named Trey, who was diagnosed with a rare form of brain cancer called atypical teratoid.After completing his treatment in November 2023, his cancer returned, and he may need a bone marrow transplant.During the event, transplant recipients shared their stories."I had a gentleman from Texas save my life," said transplant recipient Phillip Meeks. "He signed up several years prior, they called him, said, 'Hey, we have a patient in need,' which was me, and asked if he would donate. He went in and donated his stem cells.
