Then-Mizzou wrestler Ben Askren, right, has his hand raised after defeating Pittsburgh's Keith Gavin by 8-2 decision in the 174-pound national championship match March 17, 2007, in Auburn Hills, Mich. Askren -- a two-time national champion and four-time All-American -- will be one of 23 individuals enshrined in the Missouri Sports Hall of Fame on Oct. 20 at the Holiday Inn Executive Center in Columbia.

The Missouri Sports Hall of Fame announced its Class of 2024 on Wednesday morning, revealing that former Mizzou icons Chase Daniel and Ben Askren were among those that will be enshrined in October.

Daniel, who led the Tigers to a No. 1 national ranking in 2007, was MU's starting quarterback for three season and inducted into the Mizzou Hall of Fame in 2014. The Southlake, Texas, native set nearly every statistical program record of note during his time with the Tigers before embarking on a 13-year NFL career. Daniel finished his Mizzou career with a 30-11 record and three bowl appearances.
