WAUSAU, Wis. (WSAW) - A chilly October day coincided with the final push of the regular season for fall sports in Wisconsin. In volleyball, Wausau West won a conference showdown while Newman soccer took a non-con victory.

At Wausau West, the Warriors took down Merrill 3-1. The Warriors celebrated their senior night with a big victory in four sets, their third conference win of the season. They close out the regular season on Thursday at Wausau East. As for Merrill, they drop to 5-7 in the Valley. The match marked the finale of the regular season.

In soccer, Newman Catholic took down Mosinee 3-1 in a non-conference battle. The Cardinals got early goals from Lucas Erdman and Nolyn Linder as they took the victory. Newman moves to 8-6 on the season. They finish their season with conference play on Thursday at Northland Lutheran. For Mosinee, they drop to 4-10-2. They'll take on Medford next on Thursday.
