The Dolphins said they'll bring in a quarterback for depth after Tua Tagovailoa suffered a concussion and it's unclear when he'll return.
While it's unknown who Miami will bring in, there is one quarterback who can be ruled out.
"I know a lot of people suggested Tom Brady, bringing him out of retirement, that's not going to happen with Tom Brady going to Miami," ESPN's Adam Schefter reported Sunday morning on "NFL Countdown."
Brady retired after the 2022 season. He left the game with seven Super Bowl championships -- six with the New England Patriots -- and a slew of accolades to his name. He came out of retirement once, but it doesn't appear that will happen again.
The Dolphins were connected to Brady once. In 2022, Miami was found to have violated the NFL's tampering policy in conversations the organization had with Brady. It led to the Dolphins losing their 2023 first-round pick and 2024 third-round pick.
The Patriots Hall of Famer is still around the NFL, though. Brady began his broadcasting career with FOX in Week 1 of the season when he called the Dallas Cowboys-Cleveland Browns game. It was met with mixed reviews, but Brady has been putting in work in order to improve each week.
As for the Dolphins, they'll stick with Skylar Thompson at quarterback in Tagovailoa's absence.
