WNBA Reveals Huge News on Caitlin Clark's Indiana Fever Coach

Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever have been the hottest team in the WNBA since its return from the Olympic break on August 16.

In the month of August, the Fever (17-16) went 5-1 and secured their first winning record in over five years. For her stellar play, Clark received two Player of the Week awards and both the Player and Rookie of the Month honors for August.

Indiana head coach Christie Sides also received some love from the WNBA, as they announced her as Coach of the Month, making the Fever 3-for-3 for August awards.

Sides has been under a lot of heat from fans throughout the season, especially in the first few weeks when the Fever started 1-8. But after that, she has helped completely turn the team around with a 16-8 record since.

On Tuesday, September 3, with losses by the Chicago Sky and the Atlanta Dream, the Fever secured their first playoff berth under Sides and their first since 2016. Sides joined Indiana in 2023, only winning 13 games in her first season.

Sides had previously been an assistant coach with multiple WNBA teams, including the Chicago Sky from 2011-2016, the Fever from 2017-2019 and the Dream in 2022.

Sides and the Fever have a six-game homestand ahead of them, which starts on Wednesday, September 4, at 7:00 p.m. Eastern time against the Los Angeles Sparks. Since they've already secured a postseason birth, they will now be playing for seeding.
