Woman held after caretaker assaulted

Temple, Tx (FOX44) - A 51-year-old Temple woman was spending holidays in jail after a caretaker was struck in the face on Tuesday.

Lorina Johnston of Temple was booked into the Bell County Jail on multiple charges following the incident at a Temple residence.

A Temple Police Department spokesperson said officers were called to the 3500 block of SW HK Dodgen Loop at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday in response to a domestic disturbance. The caller had stated that a person there had assaulted others present included a caretaker and an elderly female.

Police said when they got there they located a woman who appeared to be visibly intoxicated. She told officers that she had been arguing with the others present when the discussion became physical and gave a statement regarding striking the caretaker in the face. Officers reported trying to take the woman into custody and said she began resisting by attempting to pull awa from officers.

Police were able to take Johnston into custody and transport her to jail where jail records indicated she was being held on charges of assault cases bodily injury and injury to the elderly. Her bond was set at $30,000.
