James Morley, of New York, crashed his SUV into a pole at 690 Atlantic St. in Stamford just before noon, authorities said.

Paramedics rushed him to Stamford Hospital in critical condition, and he later died of those injuries.

Police are investigating the cause of the crash. Authorities ask anyone with information on the single-vehicle wreck to contact Stamford Police at 203-977-4712
