Davante Adams Speaks on Gardner Minshew's Tough Mindset

The Las Vegas Raiders pulled off one of their most impressive victories in quite some time on Sunday, upsetting the Baltimore Ravens despite being massive underdogs.

It wasn't all roses and butterflies, though. Throughout the first half, the Raiders' offense struggled, showing signs of their similar mishaps against the Los Angeles Chargers in their Week 1 loss. Those struggles culminated in a costly interception, thrown by quarterback Gardner Minshew late in the first half.

However, immediately after the interception, edge rusher Maxx Crosby came straight to Minshew, and gave him a pep talk in an attempt to lift his spirits. That seemed to work, with the offense coming out firing soon after.

On Tuesday, Raiders' receiver Davante Adams appeared on the 'Up and Adams' show with Kay Adams, and he was asked about what he said to Minshew after the interception. Adams also gave some insight on the mental toughness Minshew carries with him.

"I just called his name and looked at him and smiled at him, and shook my head saying, basically, we gonna be alright, don't worry about it," Davante says.

That type of advice is important to give to your teammates, and Adams made an effort to show Minshew he had his back. According to Adams though, Minshew might not have needed that advice too much.

"Dude (Minshew) is one of the most mentally tough people I've been around, so I wasn't too much worried about him," Adams said. "Most times he's already got a hold of everything mentally... To be able to snap out of having a not-so-great Week 1, and then come in, not so great first half, and then to finish against a team like that... it proves he has that type of mental toughness."

Kay Adams makes a remark about Davante's claim that Minshew is one of the most mentally tough people he's been around, and she's right. Adams has played with some very talented teammates before, notably Aaron Rodgers, so this is a very high compliment of Minshew.

The Raiders are now 1-1, and if Minshew continues to play like he did in the second half of Sunday's game, this team could be destined for a playoff push.
