COLUMBUS, Ohio - The Ohio State Bar Foundation (OSBF) recently announced the appointment of Laurie Beth Sweeney as its next executive director. Sweeney, currently serving as chief experience officer at The Wellington School, will step into her new role in April.
"I am honored to join the Ohio State Bar Foundation as its executive director," said Sweeney. "Throughout my career, I have been passionate about fostering philanthropy, building strong community partnerships and driving organizational growth. I look forward to working alongside the OSBF Board of Trustees, staff, grantees, and partners to expand the foundation's impact and further its commitment to justice and the legal profession."
Sweeney brings extensive leadership experience across nonprofit, educational and philanthropic sectors. Her career includes pivotal roles at the Columbus College of Art and Design, Boys and Girls Clubs of Columbus and The Wellington School. With a track record of securing philanthropic support, strengthening stakeholder relationships and enhancing organizational sustainability, Sweeney has been instrumental in driving meaningful community impact.

Sweeney and her family live in the Clintonville neighborhood of Columbus.
The OSBF extends its gratitude to interim executive directors Terri Gehr and Carol Marx for their leadership and dedication during this transition period.
