The list of teams that could look to acquire Milwaukee Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo if available is extensive.
The Bucks' 1-5 start to the season means a move of some magnitude needs to occur in the coming weeks. Odds are it won't involve Antetokounmpo, but it's not out of the equation for the trade deadline or next offseason.
CBS Sports' Bill Reiter spoke with an NBA executive who labeled the Miami Heat and Brooklyn Nets as his preferred destinations, but another organization was added to the mix in a recent report.
The Los Angeles Clippers are facing one of the league's most uncertain futures due to the health concerns around star Kawhi Leonard and the lack of future draft capital. Still, an NBA exec who spoke with Adam Zagoria believes LA is one of only two places Antetokounmpo could wind up.
Zagoria wrote that "Another Western Conference league source told NJ Advance Media of Giannis: "The only places I can see him going are Miami or [the] LA [Clippers].""
The constant throughout the speculation is the Heat. Miami is viewed as one of the league's premier cities and is also home to one of the top coaches, Erik Spoelstra. Team president Pat Riley has failed to lure in a superstar since Jimmy Butler in 2020, but that is bound to change in the coming years.
It remains to be seen how Antetokounmpo could land with the Clippers, as they cannot compete with teams such as the Heat, Nets, and Oklahoma City Thunder in terms of assets. Unless the Greek star specifically asked to be dealt to LA, it's hard to imagine him ever in a Clippers uniform.
