Deion Sanders once said, "If you look good, you feel good. If you feel good, you play good." What happens if you look like a Star Wars character?
Spurs star Victor Wembanyama debuted his "Wookiee of the Year" sneakers on his way to Saturday night's game against the Rockets, combining his love of Star Wars with his shoe game before the second contest of his second NBA season.
Wembanyama could be hoping for a quick change of luck in his new Nike sneakers. He got off to a slow start in the Spurs' season opener and shot just 5-of-18 in a 120-109 loss to the Mavericks. After a terrific finish to his rookie year, expectations are through the roof for the former No. 1 pick.
Here are the details on Wembanyama's sneakers and his well-documented Star Wars fandom.

Wembanyama wore custom "Wookiee of the Year" Nike sneakers ahead of Saturday's home opener, paying tribute to his beloved Star Wars films.
The shoes are black Nikes but come with unmistakable Chewbacca-style fur. Why would Wembanyama choose a Wookiee? Aside from the play on words, Wookiees in the Star Wars universe stood at 7-3. Actor Peter Mayhew, who played Chewbacca, was 7-3. Wembanyama is listed as 7-3 as well.

Wembanyama also once gave his Star Wars basketball starting five:
