It turns out New England Patriots fans aren't the only ones who weren't crazy about former starting quarterback Mac Jones, as former Pats player Rob Ninkovich is clearly glad to see the former Alabama QB move on, too.
During a recent episode of his podcast, the longtime Patriots defensive end absolutely ripped into Mac Jones and even went as far as threatening him by saying he'd "smack the s -- " out of him.
Ninkovich retired from the NFL in 2016, so he never played with Jones. He did, however, work at ESPN from 2019 to 2023, giving him plenty of time to analyze Jones, both as a player and a person.
"I don't give a f -- ," Ninkovich said of Jones apparently not liking him. "I'll smack the s -- out of f -- -- Mac Jones. I don't care. Do you care if somebody doesn't like you? I hope he has a great career as a backup and makes a ton of money."
"Look at freaking Mac Jones down in Jacksonville right now. He's griddying all over the place... I'd rather listen to Drake Maye talk than, 'Yeah, my modeling career didn't work out. So now, I'm back down here in Jacksonville,'" Ninkovich said while impersonatig Jones. "I'm a nice guy, too. I'm a nice guy. I'm in a bike club. I needed some more nuts."
Despite being drafted by Bill Belichick and the Patriots with the 15th overall pick in the 2021 NFL draft, Jones lasted just three seasons in New England and is now backing up Trevor Lawrence in Jacksonville.
