Still very much in the running for the College Football Playoff, No. 17 Kansas State is going on the road for Big 12 matchup against West Virginia. The Mountaineers just got beaten by a top-25 conference foe, so they'll be looking to rebound.
The Wildcats are fresh off a dramatic win over Colorado last weekend, so perhaps they can carry that momentum over to this matchup against the Mountaineers. Quarterback Avery Johnson connected with receiver Jayce Brown for a 50-yard touchdown with just over two minutes left in the game to top the Buffaloes in Boulder.
Kansas State's defense did allow 388 passing yards to Shedeur Sanders, but the West Virginia passing attack won't present the same level of challenge.
The Mountaineers had a shot to knock off No. 11 Iowa State last weekend, but they wound up suffering a 28-16 loss. West Virginia could only muster 206 passing yards as quarterback Garrett Greene turned the ball over twice. That side of the ball will have to be much better in order for the team to have a shot at upsetting Kansas State on Saturday.
The race for the Big 12 title is still wide open, and the winner of this game will get a big boost in its pursuit of a conference championship.
