Video Released Of Police Officer Pulling Tyreek Hill Over On Sunday

Tyreek Hill's stellar on-field performance has not been the biggest storyline surrounding the Miami Dolphins star after Week 1.

Hill was stopped by the Miami-Dade Police for apparent speeding on his way to Hard Rock Stadium. The 30-year-old wide receiver was dragged out of his car and placed in handcuffs before eventually being released with two driving citations.

Miami-Dade PD released body cam footage of the incident on Monday, which stirred up intense reactions on social media. According to Hill's citations, he was pulled over for driving at a "visual estimation of 60 mph."

A second angle from one of the officer's body cameras shows what happened at the beginning of the encounter.

On Monday night, the Dolphins released a statement regarding the treatment of Hill and teammates Calais Campbell and Jonnu Smith by Miami police.

Campbell and Smith stopped at the scene as Hill was handcuffed and remained as the situation was sorted out.

"We are saddened by the overly aggressive and violent conduct directed toward Tyreek Hill, Calais Campbell, and Jonnu Smith by police offers before yesterday's game," the statement read. "It is both maddening and heartbreaking to watch the very people we trust to protect our community use such unnecessary force and hostility towards these players. Yet it is also a reminder that not every situation like this ends in peace, as we are grateful this one did. 'What if I wasn't Tyreek Hill?' is a question that will carry with resounding impact."

While the Dolphins praised their "strong and positive relationship" with the Miami-Dade Police Department and the "vast majority of police officers" who serve the community with a "desire to protect all citizens," they also called for "swift and strong" actions against the officers involved in the altercation with Hill.

One of the officers has already been placed on administrative leave pending an investigation.
