Police release new details of deadly crash on bridge over I-35 in OKC

Police released the circumstances that may have led to a crash that killed a 36-year-old woman Monday afternoon on a bridge over I-35 in southeast Oklahoma City. At 2:38 p.m., police responded to a crash on the bridge at Southeast 29th Street over I-35. A driver was pronounced dead at the scene, and a passenger was taken to an area hospital. The Oklahoma City Police Department identified the driver as Talisa R. Doonkeen. The passenger was an infant in Doonkeen's car, but police did not release the child's age or condition. Police did not say whether the other driver was injured. According to police, Doonkeen was reportedly seen passed out at the wheel around Southeast 29th Street and Bryant Avenue. A bystander woke her up, and she sped away from the scene. Doonkeen then ran through a red light at the Southeast 29th Street bridge over I-35, police said in a news release. She then struck another vehicle that was trying to turn left to go north onto the I-35 Service Road. The Oklahoma Department of Human Services responded to help find a family member for the child.
