Florida State's dreadful 2024 season only got worse on Saturday.
The Seminoles dropped to 1-8 overall with a 35-11 blowout loss against the North Carolina Tarheels. The Seminoles were up 3-0 at the end of the first quarter before being outscored 35-8 in the remaining three quarters.
This is a team that a lot of people picked to win the ACC this year but haven't come close to expectations.
The Seminoles are so bad that the attendance at the end of the game was not pretty.
Take a look:
Before it got to that point, the Seminoles only had one completion through the first 30 minutes of the game. They then finished the game with only eight completed passes and only 159 total yards through the air.
Brock Glenn completed six passes for 123 yards and a touchdown while Luke Kromenhoek completed two passes for 36 yards and two interceptions.
With this loss, they finished 1-7 in ACC play, which is the worst conference record in their history. Their only conference win came against the Cal Golden Bears on September 21. It was also the Seminoles' first and only win of the season thus far.
The Seminoles have been so bad this year that not many people in the media cared about this game. It might be the same next week even though they're playing the Notre Dame Fighting Irish on the road.
They'll then end the season with games against the Charleston Southern Buccaneers and the Florida Gators.
Coming into this game, Boise State star running back Ashton Jeanty had scored more points (126) than Florida State had all season (119). Jeanty is having an all-world season and showing why he's likely going to be the top running back taken in the 2025 NFL Draft.
This is a Seminoles program that is coming off a 13-win season in 2023. They won the ACC and barely missed the College Football Playoff.
The school will have to make a decision on Norvell's future once the season ends. He's in his fifth season as head coach and has compiled a 32-24 record.
