Timelapse footage captured a rare comet streaking across the night sky over Southern California on Monday, October 14.

This video taken by Mike Power shows his view of the comet from Salton City in Southern California's Imperial County.

According to NASA, the ancient comet was discovered in 2023, and is estimated to have traveled from the outer reaches of Earth's solar system.
