Jamie Ann Wood September 23, 1980 - September 2, 2024 Jamie Ann Wood, beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister, friend, and cherished member of our community, passed away on September 2, 2024, at Carle BroMenn Medical Center, Normal, as a result of complications from living over nine years with metastatic breast cancer. She was 43 years old. Jamie was born on September 23, 1980, in Dixon, IL. Growing up, Jamie was known as a trustworthy, funny kid with a big heart. She was a celebrated graduate of Sauk Valley Community College and went on to earn a degree in public relations from Illinois State University. Jamie had a gift for connecting people which is evidenced by the multitudes fortunate enough to call her friend. Jamie always went out of her way to help people feel welcome and was the name you hoped to see on any volunteer committee because that meant great things were about to happen. In 2007, Jamie fell in love with Jason Wood. They got married in 2010 and went on to welcome two amazing girls that would become the center of their worlds. Jamie was good at many things, but she was an exceptional mother. Her kindness, strength and good humor shine bright in Vivian and Annalise. Jamie is survived by her loving husband, Jason Wood; her children, Vivian and Annalise Wood, all of Bloomington; her mother, Ruth Ann Leffelman of Dixon, IL; and sister, Julie (Tony) Ross of Selma, TX. Jamie was preceded in death by her father, James V. Leffelman. Visitation will be on Friday, September 13, 2024, from 4:30 PM to 7:00 PM at St. John's Lutheran Church. Her funeral service will be on Saturday, September 14, 2024, at 10:00 AM at St. John's Lutheran Church with burial at Evergreen Cemetery and a light lunch at St. John's Lutheran Church following.
