Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Zombies DLC Map 1 Release Date and Everything You Need To Know

We already have 2 Zombies maps to dive into and enjoy in Black Ops 6, and yet Treyarch is giving us more with its first DLC releasing with Season 1. If you're amazed by how Terminus Island felt like a classic Zombies experience, you're about to be hit with a huge hype truck that's been teased by the developers; "The Castle of The Dead," or Citadelle des Morts. Let's dive into it this new BO6 Zombies map.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Zombies will feature a brand new map called the Citadelle des Morts in Season 1 Reloaded. As the name suggests, the map is a castle, and by the looks of it, it seems to be bigger than Liberty Falls and most other round-based Zombies maps we've seen in the Black Ops titles.

Citadelle des Morts, which translates to the "Castle of The Dead" takes place in the Avalon in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Zombies. Avalon is a fictional region in Call of Duty, located near the Mediterranean Coast. Judging by the name of the map, this area is in/near France.

Spoiler Alert! If you haven't finished Terminus Island's main easter egg, you might get spoiled by the following info.

Ex-Requiem members Gregori Weaver, Elizabeth Grey, and Mackenzie Carver are joined by the Filipina smuggler Maya Aguinaldo on their breakout from the Terminus Island prison. They find Maya's brother, Nathan, shoot his zombified body, and then come in face-to-face with the evil Dr. Modi. Upon defeating the mad scientist, they're given info about their next act on Citadelle des Morts in Avalon by the S.A.M AI.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Zombies Season 1 DLC map will tell us a story that connects the puzzle pieces we've fetched in the past couple of years. Avalon is where the Sentinel artifact of the BO4 Chaos Zombies narrative is said to be located, which is how humans can get to learn about Prima Materia. More about that in the article below.

Now to make things even crazier, Edward Richtofen was searching for this artifact before going dark, and guess who's been chasing him as part of a French Syndicate? Sergei Ravenov of the MW3 and Black Ops Cold War Zombies. Instructed by S.A.M., Maya, Weaver, Grey, and Carver are heading to this mysterious castle to reveal the secrets and find Gabriel Krafft; the demonologist who studied Alister Rhodes' pieces about the Sentinel Artefacts back in 1944.

Aside from the insane story and the "terrifying" setting of the Citadelle des Morts Black Ops 6 Zombies DLC map, Treyarch has teased us with new wonder weapons coming to the game. Now it's been a word of the day in the CoD Zombies community that the Ray Gun Mark II is coming to Black Ops 6 Zombies as it's been datamined by the leakers, but the blog is saying "wonder weapons," plural.

Now this could be Ray Gun Mark II and another wonder weapon from the past or a new one joining in, or, maybe there are elemental weapons to create in the Castle of The Dead? Swords, bows, staffs, you guess! Not to mention that there will be a new perk, field upgrade, and an ammo mod coming to BO6 Zombies with the Citadelle des Morts map in Season 1 Reloaded as well.

The Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 first Zombies DLC map will be added to the game as part of the Season 1 Reloaded update, which is said to be released in early December 2024. Season 1 will heavily focus on the Black Ops 6's Warzone integration that starts on November 15, 2024, which is a pretty good excuse to give us the Zombies content nearly a month later.
