The crash occurred shortly before 3:55 p.m., when a vehicle struck a power pole in the 8300 block of Silverado, east of Rutherford, according to the California Highway Patrol's online incident log. It was not immediately known whether any occupants were injured.
Silverado was closed between Highway 128 (Sage Canyon Road) and Skellenger Lane due to the collision, Napa County Fire said in an Everbridge text message alert. The shutdown was expected to last until about 8:30 p.m. Saturday, and drivers were advised to avoid the area and take alternate routes.
Pacific Gas & Electric Co.'s online outage map indicated that 467 customers along the Trail, near Rutherford and Oakville, lost service at 3:53 p.m., at about the time of the crash. Customers were expected to have their power restored by about 1:30 a.m. Sunday.
