Huntsville, Ala., is getting ready to host a new music festival in September 2024. South Star Music Festival will be held Sept. 28-29 at John Hunt Park and will feature Gwen Stefani, Blink-182, Ludacris, Goo-Goo Dolls, Shinedown and more.

The event will feature 20 acts across two days. Additional acts include Jane's Addiction, Jimmy Eat World, TLC, Juvenile, Gin Blossoms, Candlebox, Dexter and the Moonrocks, Winona Fighter, Beck, Sublime, Big Boi, Pete Yorn, Vanessa Carlton, Bully, and Billy Allen and the Pollies.

How to get there, where to park

South Star will take place at 3125 Don Mincher Drive SW, Huntsville, AL 35802. The festival website says: "There is only one entrance for South Star Festival! The Main Entrance to the festival is south of Joe Davis Stadium, near the roundabout at Philip Dotts Drive and Jaycee Way."

Public Transportation: Huntsville Orbit bus line stops near the festival entrance. The Red Line stops near Leeman Ferry and Drake Ave (Academy Sports/Hardees), the closest to the festival entrance. Red Line operating hours will be extended during the festival and will run one hour after closing each night. Learn more about the Orbit here.

Rideshare: Rideshare drop-off and pick-up is located at Joe Davis Stadium.

Pre-Paid Parking: Paid parking lots are located all around Joe Davis Stadium, which is across the street from the festival. More info on how to purchase pre-paid parking will be available soon.

Free Parking: The website says: "There will also be first-come first-serve free parking at Milton Frank Stadium (2801 15thAve SW, Huntsville, AL 35805), and the Aquatic Center (2213 Drake Ave SW, Huntsville, AL 35805) ... It is a longer walk, so consider dropping off your friends before going to park!"

Bike: Bike parking will be available near the main entrance. Bring your lock!
