Chiefs Add Another Receiver to Injury Report Thursday

The Kansas City Chiefs will look to stay undefeated on Sunday when they face the San Francisco 49ers.

While the Chiefs are undefeated coming out of their bye in Week 6, they have struggled to stay healthy on offense. Their receivers have especially suffered, as Rashee Rice and Marquise Brown have both been ruled out for the season.

Despite both of Kansas City's top receivers being out for the year, the Chiefs had their best offensive performance of the year in Week 5, totaling 460 yards. Patrick Mahomes threw for a season-high 321 yards as well.

However, now the Chiefs could be without one of their best-remaining weapons on Sunday. JuJu Smith-Schuster was added to Kansas City's injury report on Thursday with a hamstring injury.

While it's still unclear if Smith-Schuster's injury will hold him out of Sunday, a midweek injury usually does not bode well so close to a game. Kansas City's injury report on Friday will likely be a huge indicator of whether or not he will be ready to go against the Titans.

If Smith-Schuster can't go, it would be a huge loss for the Chiefs, as he was a massive contributor in their Week 5 win. He was the game's leading receiver with seven catches for 130 yards.

Without Smith-Schuster, the Chiefs will have to rely on tight end Travis Kelce and rookie Xavier Worthy against an intense 49ers defense. Running back Kareem Hunt will also likely get a larger workload.
