Following Niwot gymnastics' first state title berth since 2018, it's no surprise that the Cougars flexed on CHSAA's all-state lists. Evie Saunders, who won the individual all-around with a score of 37.100, naturally took the top prize as gymnast of the year with a spot on first team for Class 4A. Head coach Marisa Purcell won the top coaching honor.
Lilly O'Neill followed Saunders' lead with a tie for third place (36.525), while Maeve Flentie rounded out the first team nods by placing second in bars (9.300). Cloe Pereira paved her way onto second team with a fifth-place finish on beam (9.225), just as Kylee Schlepp (won vault during team competition, 9.425), Sienna Wood (eighth in bars, 8.925), Isabella Foster (10th in bars finals, 8.900) and Jaden Fletemeyer (sixth in vault, 9.100) all rounded out honorable mention.
Broomfield, up in 5A, placed third in the team race with a score of 181.625, but paced just .275 points behind state runner-up Overland. Kaya Duncan earned the lone spot on first team for the Eagles thanks to her silver in the beam competition (9.600), as Liliana Wojahn followed her lead by joining second team with fifth in the all-around (36.925).
The Eagles then enjoyed honorable mentions for Alexa Darlin (11th on beam, 9.225) and Aspen Palillian (10th on vault, 9.325).
