San Diego homicide detectives are investigating after a man was fatally shot at an independent living facility in Oak Park Saturday night.
Police responded to a call for assault with a deadly weapon around 10:20 p.m. on 54th Street near Redwood Street. The victim, whose age was not released, had been shot once in the torso, Lt. Lou Maggi told OnScene TV.
First responders performed CPR and took him to a hospital, but the man succumbed to his injuries, Maggi said.
Police interviewed at least nine people who were at the facility. They have not yet released a suspect description or what might have led up to the shooting.
