Emergency crews responded after a VW Passat and a Jeep Cherokee collided on Talbot Trail, between Goulet and Kendall roads in Raleigh Township, at 10:35 p.m., police said Thursday.

One vehicle ended up in the south ditch, while the other ended up facing north in the westbound lane, police said. Both were badly damaged.

The VW driver, a Tilbury East man, 37, was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics, police said.

The Jeep driver, a Windsor woman, 48, was flown to a London hospital for treatment. Her passenger, a 45-year-old Windsor man, was taken to a local hospital.
