One Incentive Knicks Could Receive vs. Pistons?

Following the New York Knicks' 116-107 victory over the Miami Heat, the confidence in Karl-Anthony Towns as a legitimate second option for Jalen Brunson is rather high. On the road against the Detroit Pistons for a Friday night matchup, the Knicks can seize momentum and take advantage of a lesser team.

Although Knicks fans would like another 44 points and 13 rebounds from Towns, a rare fourth-quarter resting period would bode well for the 82-game season. If the Knicks can handle business early, Tom Thibodeau won't require his starters to play deep into the fourth quarter, giving the less-proven players a chunk of minutes.

Furthermore, to prep for the 2024 playoffs or another matchup with the Boston Celtics, perhaps Thibodeau could practice increasing the Knicks' 3-point attempts against the inferior Pistons.
