Keon Sabb injury update: Alabama football safety leaves Tennessee game

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. - Alabama football safety Keon Sabb left Saturday afternoon's game against Tennessee with an injury.

Midway through the second quarter, Sabb hobbled off the field helped by trainers. Sabb's left leg was being wrapped up on the sideline.

Sabb first appeared on the Crimson Tide's SEC availability report with an unspecified injury Thursday and Friday before he was listed as a game-time decision for Saturday's rivalry meeting with the Volunteers.

Sabb was on the field during the first set of pregame warm ups, and was in uniform running through drills before kickoff.

Behind Sabb, Alabama has sophomore Bray Hubbard as the second-team free safety.

According to Pro Football Focus, Hubbard played 27 snaps against Western Kentucky. Since, he played 11 total snaps of defense against South Florida, Wisconsin and Vanderbilt.

Hubbard, a former four-star in the 2023 class, has 11 tackles and one tackle-for-loss in 2024.

Most of Hubbard's on-field time has been on special teams, playing at least 15 snaps in each of Alabama's 2024 games.

On Saturday, Sabb had one tackle.

Sabb is third on Alabama with 37 tackles behind Jihaad Campbell (51) and Deontae Lawson (50). Sabb is also tied for the team lead with two interceptions with cornerback Domani Jackson, and has three pass deflections.

Sabb transferred to Alabama after two seasons with Michigan.
