Gov. Kay Ivey has asked for the resignation of Alabama Department of Veterans Affairs Commissioner Kent Davis.
She has also removed John Kilpatrick from the Alabama State Board of Veterans Affairs, effective immediately.
The governor released a copy of the letter she sent to Davis, saying his agency mishandled an ARPA grant program. Ivey says that jeopardized Alabama's ability to fulfill its obligations to the program and the agency's ability to serve our state's veterans.
She says she'll make his resignation effective as of Sept. 30.
