Astro Bot's Version 1.006 update is now available, and it gives players access to Let it Slide, a brand-new speedrun level. This is the second speedrun level to be added to Astro Bot since the game's launch in September, and three more are scheduled to be released in the upcoming weeks.
Astro Bot's post-launch speedrun levels were first announced with a trailer that was shown during Sony's most-recent State of Play event, and the first stage was added to the game on October 17. That first stage, which is called "Building Speed," centers around the Barkster power up, and players have spent the past week fighting for the top spots on its leaderboard.

Players now have a new opportunity to show off their platforming abilities, as the Version 1.006 update adds the Let it Slide speedrun level to the game. As is the case with Building Speed, Let it Slide is accessed through Stellar Speedway, a galaxy that becomes available upon beating Astro Bot, and it is home to two Special Bots. More specifically, a bot that references Eve from Stellar Blade and a bot that looks like a Helldivers 2 character can be found in Let it Slide, and many players will undoubtedly want to rescue both of them.

With respect to what players can expect from the remaining three levels, it is confirmed that they will each have two Special Bots to rescue. While the games that serve as sources for those additional Bots are not yet known, some hints may be found in Astro Bot's credits. Indeed, the game's credits reference several franchises that are not currently represented in Astro Bot, including Assassin's Creed, Rayman, and Worms, and it would not be surprising if characters from them appeared in Spring-loaded Run, Helium Heights, and Rising Heat.
It is also confirmed that each of the upcoming speedrun levels will have its own leaderboard, just like Astro Bot's Building Speed and Let it Slide stages. Those leaderboards are sure to encourage fierce competition, and players will really need to optimize their runs if they want to see their names at the top.
