How and Where to Enjoy Gaming and Sports in Maryland

How and Where to Enjoy Gaming and Sports in Maryland

As residents of Maryland, some of us for many, many years, it's easy to forget how much excitement lies on the doorstep. We all have our favorite haunts - the places we can rely on for a great time. But, there are new experiences to be enjoyed! Maryland has so much to offer when it comes to gaming and sports. We've got great sporting venues, brilliant spaces set up exclusively for gaming, and a few wild cards to share too. Let's take a look at them all.

There's maybe no other sport that blends tradition and excitement quite like horse racing. So, if you're a Maryland local, a visit to Laurel Park is a must. This iconic horse racing track, located in Laurel, is the kind of destination that makes you feel like you're rubbing shoulders with the elite. Laurel Park's history dates back to the late 1800s and still offers year-round racing events that bring out the competitive spirit in everyone. There's a welcoming atmosphere with grandstands that are both seated and standing (standing is a better option if you're prone to leaping out of your seat when your horse wins!). The Frank J. De Francis is arguably the standout race on Laurel Park's card, but no matter which day you visit, you'll be treated to top class thoroughbred racing in a sophisticated venue

Making a move away from the horses and into an electro-gaming heaven. The Cave Gaming Center in Towson is a hub for all things high-performance gaming. This gaming cafe has become a haven for gamers of all levels, featuring a range of top-notch PCs and consoles. Whether you're a super casual player or a hardcore competitors, you're equally well catered for here. The center regularly hosts tournaments and community events too. So, if you've always wondered how your gaming skills would stack up, this is a great place to find out. Not to mention that, it's also a super friendly vibe.

There are a handful of great casinos dotted along the shores of Chesapeake Bay, all offering a range of games. Sure, you don't get the same dizzying library of slots as you might do at an online site, we're talking up to 50 rather than over 1,000. You'll also get laughed out of town if you ask for a welcome bonus! However, you do get the benefit of being out and about, mingling with other casino fans. One of the most well-liked spots is Live! Casino & Hotel, which benefits from a slick and sophisticated bar to hang out at. Better still, there's also a sports lounge with huge screens, showing all the action from in the state and further afield. Of course, if you'd like to watch in person then Maryland has plenty to offer in that department too...

Are you truly a Marylander if you've never experienced an NFL game at M&T Bank Stadium? You'll find the stadium in the very heart of Baltimore, and if it's game day, you'll probably hear it before you see it! The Ravens are known for their diehard supporters, so even if you're not team Ravens, it's worth heading up there on match day to soak up the atmosphere and catch some top-class football! The stadium itself is state-of-the-art, offering stunning views from every seat and a tailgating scene that's legendary among NFL fans. Not in the know about tailgating? Head to the parking lot for some homestyle food that's almost as good as the game itself!

Finally, if you love the classic arcade experience, Urban Air Adventure Park in White Marsh is the place to be. Although it's primarily known for its adventure activities (and these are great too!), Urban Air has an impressive arcade section packed with classic games. It's not just about gaming, it's about the thrill of competing, hitting high scores, and enjoying the buzz of the arcade floor. Take plenty of change with you and enjoy a couple of hours of total nostalgia.
