The Ashland County Fair opened Sunday, starting things off early with steer and rabbit show and an opening ceremony at noon. The Junior Fair king and queen, Nick Cartwright and Sage Runion, were named and musicians showed their talent in the Parade of Bands.

Later in the day women got to show off their skills of throwing skillets, followed by a tractor pull and square dance.

Weatherwise, fairgoers can expect sun and a high of 81 degrees on Monday. As the week moves on the temperatures will remain in the high 70s and low 80s, but rain is expected Tuesday afternoon and Wednesday.

8:30 a.m.: Junior Fair market lamb show, followed by breeding sheep show, Coliseum

9 a.m.: Junior Fair dairy showmanship, followed by Junior and open dairy shows, Coliseum

9 a.m.: Junior Fair dairy and meat market goat show, followed by pygmy, fiber, pack and harness goat show, Swine Pavilion

8:30 a.m.: Junior Fair beef and dairy feeder show, followed by open class beef show, Coliseum

3:30 p.m.: Livestock auction of market rabbit, market turkey, market chicken; dairy benefit, baby beef and market steer
