Clemson's kickoff time with Stanford set

CLEMSON -- Clemson will play its first ACC contest with Stanford under the lights.

The ACC announced Tigers-Cardinal will kick off at 7 p.m. on ESPN. This will be Clemson's second night game of the season after hosting Appalachian State in an 8 p.m. kickoff in Week 2.

This week, N.C. State at Clemson will be a noon start.

Stanford, which joined the ACC this season, along with Cal and SMU, will have to travel to Syracuse the week before a trip to Clemson. There are just over 2,400 miles separating Stanford Stadium and the JMA Wireless Dome. It's just over 2,300 miles for the trip to Memorial Stadium the next week.

In the span of eight days -- Stanford's game with Syracuse is on a Friday -- the Cardinal will travel roughly 9,400 miles roundtrip.

Clemson has a bye week, and then a home contest with N.C. State, leading into an inaugural ACC matchup with Stanford.

Clemson, along with North Carolina and Florida State, voted against Stanford, Cal, and SMU joining the conference. FSU and Clemson have since taken the league to court in a dispute over the ACC's television agreements with ESPN.
