Puffy Cloud vs Siena: Which supportive memory foam mattress suits your sleep?

We compare the design, price, comfort, and support of two top-rated mattresses

The Puffy Cloud and Siena Memory Foam Mattress are two all-foam beds that offer firm support. While both stand at 10" high and use gel-infused memory foam layers, there are some key differences between the Puffy Cloud vs Siena Memory Foam Mattress.

The Siena Memory Foam Mattress is one of our top recommendations for the best mattress of 2024 for all sleepers, and it's all thanks to its great value for money. Meanwhile, we recently tested the Puffy Cloud to see how it fares against our favorite memory foam mattresses, and we were pleasantly surprised by the support it offers. Both Puffy and Siena are great memory foam beds, but which should you choose?

Here, we'll compare the Puffy Cloud and the Siena Memory Foam mattresses to see which is better for your sleep. We'll also break down which is better for your budget in the extended Labor Day mattress sales.

The Puffy Cloud is a mid-range mattress that regularly sells a queen for $1,049, so it's unlikely that it will make our best mattress under $1,000 guide any time soon. However, it is up to $1,350 off, and you can save up to $1,450 after discounts for military, healthcare professionals, and students and educators.

The Siena Memory Foam Mattress, on the other hand, is the best cheap mattress on the market. A permanent Siena mattress sale means you'll always pick up a queen for under $400, which is exceptional for such a well-reviewed mattress.

In terms of extras, both mattresses come with free shipping and free returns, but their warranties, trials, and return policies differ. While Siena has a longer trial at 180 nights compared to Puffy's 101-night trial, Puffy offers a lifetime warranty while Siena's only lasts for 10 years.

The Puffy Cloud stands at 10" tall, with four fiberglass-free layers of foam manufactured from USA-made materials. The first layer is called the Climate Fiber, which is meant to boost comfort and breathability. Next is the 2" gel-infused Cooling Cloud Foam for heat dispersion and body-cradling pressure relief.

This layer is followed by another 2" layer of pressure-reliving foam for proper spinal support, and tops the final layer of Firm Core Support Foam, a 6" support layer of high-density foam. All four layers are sandwiched between a cooling cover made with Puffy's Cooling Cloud Technology and an anti-slip base cover.

The Siena Memory Foam also has an anti-shift bottom cover, and begins with a soft, breathable cover. Like the Cloud, the Siena mattress also uses gel-infused foam, with the first layer featuring 1.75" of responsive gel memory foam. The middle layer is designed for adding support, while the ripples in its foam are to boost airflow. Finally, there's the 8.25" of foundational foam, which is to add even more support and stability.

First of all, if you enjoy the soft, traditional "hug" of memory foam, then neither the Puffy or Siena will offer you that feel. Both are on the firm side, with the Puffy being slightly softer at 7/10 (medium-firm) compared to Siena's firm 8/10. Both are the best memory foam mattresses to buy if you want support, thanks in part to their high-density foam layers.

Our tester's for this year's Puffy Cloud mattress review praised the support it offers to back sleepers, but may be too firm for side sleepers who crave deep pressure relief. Likewise, our Siena Memory Foam Mattress review praised the mattress for its firm support, labelling it as the best mattress for stomach sleepers.

In terms of motion isolation and temperature control, both mattresses are excellent at limiting motion transfer and keeping sleepers cool. However, reviewers did note that the Puffy's cooling cover did feel a little slippery and also criticised the weak edge support.

✅ You're a hot sleeper: While both Siena and Puffy mattresses sleep cool, Puffy's trademark cooling cover and airflow-enhancing layers offer ultra-cooling properties.

✅ You're a back sleeper: Our lead tester and his wife found it comfortable and supportive for side and back sleeping.

✅ You have back pain: This mattress is endorsed by the American Chiropractic Association and is designed to alleviate back pain.

✅ You're a front sleeper: The firm Siena Memory Foam is perfect for keeping stomach sleepers' spines properly aligned.

✅ You have a tighter budget: Thanks to a permanent half-price sale, you can always pick a queen up for under $400.

✅ You have mobility issues: We found the Siena's edge support to be strong, making it easier to get in and out of bed.
