Neighbours' Terese Willis will face huge backlash in upcoming scenes after causing a major gas leak at Eirini Rising.
In scenes that aired on Wednesday (October 30), Terese had some heated arguments with Susan and Paul, who have become increasingly worried over her erratic behaviour after her marriage to Toadie Rebecchi broke down.
The stress led Terese to drink, and she unknowingly damaged a gas pipe when leaving Eirini Rising later that evening.

In scenes set to air on the soap next week, Paul stays the night with Terese and urges her to get some help.
Although Terese assures him she can handle it, she struggles to hide her guilt when she discovers that the driver of the linen delivery truck at Eirini Rising confessed to causing the gas leak, thinking he was responsible.
When the driver is fired from his job and told he may face police charges, Terese tells Paul that she wants to confess.
However, Paul has another suggestion. He tells Terese that he'll take the blame so there won't be a scandal to ruin Eirini Rising's reputation.

Terese reluctantly agrees, but when the time comes to tell the residents, she can't help herself and confesses that she was responsible for causing the gas leak while drunk.
Terese apologises for her actions and assures the residents that it won't happen again. But when the residents leave the meeting, Susan turns on Terese and criticises her for keeping her relapse to herself.
An overwhelmed Terese flees the meeting but is then met with a furious Moira, who accuses Terese of stealing her missing wine.
Later on, Paul confronts Susan and Paul over their reactions to a friend in need. But Paul begins to blame himself, admitting he saw the signs but ignored them out of an attempt to respect Terese's boundaries.
Meanwhile, Krista gently convinces Terese to let her book her into the rehab centre David once connected her to. Paul is overwhelmed with relief when Terese agrees, and the two share a moment of connection.

The next day, Terese is ready to make amends and asks Susan to manage Eirini Rising in her absence.
However, she is shocked when Karl and Susan ask her to step down from her role permanently, as they're fed up with complaints from the staff and residents in the wake of her confession.
Terese complies and carries her belongings from the office, before confessing to the police with Paul by her side.
Before leaving for rehab, Terese tries to address Paul's confession from the other night, but he promises her that they can speak about it when she returns.
