If there was ever an example of the negative results of using diversity, equity and inclusion as a way of promoting people into jobs of importance, look no further than the Republic of California.
From the governor, to the state assembly of super-majority Dems, to the mayor of Los Angeles, to the top brass in the Fire Department, wokeness over ability, experience and education was promoted.
The apocalyptic results are in many ways attributed to their mismanagement or lack of crisis management. Cutting the fire budget, shuttering fire stations, allowing water reservoirs to sit empty while under repairs for a year, allowing vegetation to be overgrown without any brush management? It's not like these wildfires don't happen annually. California residents have one of the highest tax burdens in the nation, yet there is little accountability or results to show for it.
Yet I still see many people critical of President Trump before he even takes office. Whining about him being a bully to other countries, challenging the bureaucracy with his cabinet appointments and pledges to close the border, become energy dominant and cut wasteful government spending. The people have spoken and the world is now leaning away from the unrealistic far-left New Green Deal, climate change mantra and wokeness.
The governor of California has bought a $9 million house on his approximately $242,000 a year salary. What happened to the Sustainable Groundwater Management Act the California voters passed in 2014 allocating $7.5 billion toward water management?
