Week 4 High School Football Roundup | Field, Streetsboro, Windham stay undefeated

This year has been quite the opposite for the Bombers.

Undefeated Windham rolled to a 42-0 victory over Tuscarawas Central Catholic at Ed Liddle Field Friday, exploding for 34 first-quarter points.

The Bombers (4-0) started with a deep ball as QB Dylan McCune found fellow senior Jack Eye 34 yards behind the defense. McCune capped the drive by faking a screen to Eye, then rolling left and finding Carlos Bruton for an 18-yard touchdown.

After TCC fumbled on its first play, Windham doubled its lead on just two plays, capped by a pitch to Eye for a 20-yard TD. Eye later recorded a 60-yard TD run, with Dejuan Ramsey and Bruton also adding touchdown runs before the opening quarter was through.

The Bombers' defense was no less impressive, holding the Saints without a first down in the first half.

Marcus Council lifted the undefeated Rockets (4-0, 1-0 Metro Athletic Conference) with a four-touchdown performance, taking two punts to the house (from 65 and 73 yards out) as well as a kickoff (for 81 yards).

Council (3 carries, 88 yards) was also one of five players to score a rushing touchdown for Streetsboro, joining Logan Fincham (6 carries, 125 yards), Janiere Cook, Jackson Gula and Cohen Klimak.

Drexal McAmis scored three touchdowns to lift the Falcons (4-0, 1-0 Metro Athletic Conference) to victory in their league opener. McAmis got Field going, capping its opening drive with a 17-yard TD run, later adding an 11-yard scoring run to push its lead to 14-0. The host Bulldogs (0-4, 0-1) tied the game just before halftime but the Falcons jumped back in front for good on a 33-yard TD run from McAmis.

The Pirates surged to victory behind 23 first-quarter points.

Bryer Pickana had four touchdown runs for Southeast (2-2), with 14 carries for 154 yards, while Alaunte Massrock added a 51-yard TD run.

The Red Devils scored 16 points apiece in the first two quarters to run away with Friday's Chagrin Valley Conference crossover game. Bryce Giel got Crestwood (3-1) rolling with a 75-yard touchdown run, with Nate Blasiole adding two TD runs of his own before the first half was up. Blasiole hit the century mark, rushing for 125 yards on just 12 carries.

Ryan Croston had three touchdowns in the first half for the Lakers, including scoring runs of nine and 60 yards in the opening quarter and a 66-yard pass to Matthew Adkins in the second.

Down 14-0 and 20-7, Rootstown (1-3) rallied behind three touchdown runs, two by Damien Reuting and one by Blake Mullaly, even taking a 21-20 lead before Pymatuning Valley re-took the lead late in the third on a Ty Vickery touchdown run. Croston (22 carries, 142 yards, 2 TD) and Vickery (23 carries, 116 yards, TD) both hit the century mark for the Lakers (4-0).

The Rough Riders (2-2, 1-0 Suburban American) scored their first shutout of the season and benefited from several big plays, including Parker D'Sidocky's 82-yard punt return for a TD and 34-yard TD run. Keith Stewart and Mahki Jones added long TD runs of 67 and 40 yards, respectively, while Yahntae Smith had two touchdowns (one rushing and one passing to Tyler Ellington).

Jason Beverly ran for two touchdowns and Buddy Willig threw two touchdown passes to lead the visiting Panthers (2-2, 1-0) past the Ravens (1-3, 0-1 MAC). Tyler Koger and Isaac Hunter each caught a TD pass from Willig. Markus Brown added a rushing TD.
