2. WASDE report Thursday: This week marks release of a critical harvest-time government commodity report. As is normal, the latest USDA WASDE numbers come out at 11 a.m., DTN will post those numbers shortly after 11, followed by updates and analysis throughout the morning. Our preview expectations for the report will be available mid-week. 3. See us in Grand Island: If you're planning to attend Husker Harvest Days in Grand Island, Nebraska, drop by the DTN building to learn more about our latest products and efforts. You'll also want to hear harvest weather and markets outlooks from Ag Meteorologist John Baranick and Hultman. The outlook sessions are at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Sept. 10 and 11. On Sept. 12 we'll have a weather outlook at 10 a.m. from Baranick, while Hultman will back in the office Thursday to cover the WASDE report.
4. Crop weather outlook: As harvest begins in some Midwest areas, the region will cool during the weekend then gradually rise and could get hot again by the end of the week. A cooling followed by warmer, drier pattern is also scheduled for the Dakotas. The Delta will get some moisture over the weekend, then turn drier again. The southern coasts have a better chance of significant rain. South America stays dry, with much of Brazil extremely dry to start off the planting season, with northern regions staying driest. Rain is also limited as Argentina begins its corn planting season. Planting could be delayed in both countries.
5. Economic reports line-up: Monday at 9 a.m., the Wholesale Inventories numbers for July is released. Grain Inspections come out at 10 a.m., while at 2 p.m. is Consumer Credit figures. At 3 p.m. our USDA NASS weekly Crop Progress coverage begins. Wednesday reports begin at 7:30 a.m. with Consumer Price Index (CPI) and Core CPI. At 9:30 a.m., EIA's Weekly Petroleum Status Report including ethanol is out. At 2 p.m. we'll have Broiler Hatchery numbers. Thursday there's Grain Export Sales figures at 7:30 a.m. as well as Initial Jobless Claims, Producer Price Index (PPI) and Core CPI. At 10:30 a.m. the Weekly Economic Index is out. WASDE and the USDA Crop Production reports hit at 11 a.m., followed by 1 p.m. release of the U.S. Federal Budget for August. Friday the latest Import Price Index comes at 7:30 a.m., followed by Consumer Sentiment numbers at 9 a.m. At 2:30 p.m., CFTC's Commitment of Traders report is released; at 3 p.m. there is Turkey Hatchery numbers.
